It's amazing just what you can find in a muddy hole.

We carried out an assessment of a pond on a development site using the National Pond Survey framework. We visited the site in spring, summer and autumn to build a comprehensive picture of the condition of the pond. Despite its initial appearance of disturbance, pollution and almost drying out in summer we found a wide range of species.
