Clearwing Ecology is a family run business, which began in 2015. With over 40 years combined experience we provide professional, scientific and practical advice. We operate from our office in Argyll and travel throughout Scotland.

Kerry MacKay

Third generation ecologist. Having graduated with an MSci Biological Sciences from the University of Aberdeen Kerry has worked with the Argyll Fisheries Trust, Scottish Sealife Sanctuary, and for an environmental consultancy in Southern England. She specialises in freshwater invertebrates and Lepidoptera and has presented her research at international conferences.

A keen scuba diver, she also has her IANTD Scientific Diver qualification from Heriot-Watt University. She has been involved with surveys in the UK, Arctic Norway, and Wakatobi Marine National Park in Indonesia.

Jessie Wormell

With a BSc Hons in Ecology and a Masters in Biological Recording from the University of Birmingham, Jessie specialises in Lepidoptera surveys, data management and curation of insect collections. With over 30 years experience researching and monitoring BAP Priority Species, advising conservation managers and leading public walks, talks and events. She was instrumental in the designation of Mabie Forest Butterfly Reserve, is the National Moth and Butterfly Recorder for the Small Isles, and is a co-author of the Butterflies of South West Scotland.
