VENUS
Visiting Venus would be very hazardous. This planet is similar size to the Earth. It orbits the sun in a distance of about 108 million km. From mostly flat surface rise several areas that resemble the continents of the Earth. The planet`s atmosphere is so thick that it traps heat like a greenhouse, giving Venus the hottest surface of any planet in the Solar System. There is no liquid water, and the atmosphere contains clouds of deadly sulphuric acid, so Venus is a dry and poisonous world.
Venus is sometimes called the Evening Star or the Morning Star. This is because it is quite close to the Sun, so it can be seen in the night sky just after sunset and just before sunrise. Vinus spins in the opposite direction to the Earth most other planets.Venus is the jewel of the sky. The rader surveys reveal that the surface of Venus is dominated by large, flat plain, with gentle sloping mountains ranges, volcanoes and large wide valleys.
