21st January - Rivers: Source to Sea - a Talk by Jack Perks, well-known photographer and cameraman on BBC television programmes such as Springwatch and Countryfile.
18th February - The Long Wild Journey Down Under - We welcome back Gianpiero Ferrari FRPS DPAGB FBPE EFIAP, a Leicestershire-based, wild-life photographer, to present his Talk on one of his trips to Australia.
18th March - Insect Life Cycles - Part 2 - Our Chairman, Nigel Downes, will present the second instalment featuring interesting observations and stories.
15th April - Forensic Science: Its Use in Nature - Jim Campbell, forensic Scientist, will demonstrate how forensic science can inform us about the natural world.
20th May - The Spirit of the Jaguar - We welcome again Anna-Louise Pickering with a new Talk, telling the story of her past travels with Pollyanna into Brazil.
17th June - WNHS 50th Anniversary Celebration - Presentations by members including their ‘Top 10 photos’, raffle, refreshments and celebratory cake!
July/ August - No Meeting
16th September - Springwatch, behind the scenes - Part 2 - Jack Baddams, Ornithologist, Naturalist and Researcher on the BBC Springwatch programme will take us behind the scenes to hear more stories of how this popular programme is made.
21st October - AGM & Photographic Competition Presentation
18th November - Rutland Water’s Fungi - Tim Sexton, Wildlife Presenter and Naturalist, will give his new Talk on the Fungi found in the vicinity of Rutland Water over the years.

PAST MEETINGS
15th January - One Year of Wildlife - Gianpiero Ferrari, a Leicestershire based, wildlife photographer, will present a Talk featuring wildflowers, orchids, birds, mammals, fungi, amphibians, reptiles and insects. All the subjects are British or European.
19th February - Ancient Woodland - Michael Walker of the Nottinghamshire Dormouse Group, will present a Talk on how to know if you are in an ancient woodland, clues to look out for e.g. indicator species, evidence of past management, features on the ground etc.
19th March - Mountain Flowers & Beautiful Gardens from Oregon to Alaska – David Charlton. In 2023, David visited North America for the North American Rock Garden Society. His Talk covers many of the gardens he visited and photographed during that special trip.
16th April - The Wildlife of Costa Rica - Max & Christine Maughan present an up to-date Talk on birds and other wildlife seen during their most recent visit to that country in 2023.
21st May - Nottingham’s Urban Forest - Graham Piearce, the Society’s Tree Expert, will take us on a walk through Nottingham, discussing the types of trees planted and their growth over the years.
18th June - 'Let's Get Close to our Owls'- Beverley Rhodes will be telling us about owls. She will be bringing in 3 owls, Barn, Little & Tawny which can be held and shared.
17th September - The World of Spiders – David Fox will inform us about some amazing spiders from the UK and across the globe. He will tackle ‘why people are terrified of spiders’.
15th October - AGM & Photographic Competition Presentation
19th November - Living with Nature by Day and by Night - Alan Williams of Tean Valley Meadow Nature Reserve, Nr. Uttoxeter, will present a Talk about the Reserve which was established in 2002 by Alan and his wife from eleven acres of unimproved grassland in Staffordshire. This is their story.
