Thank you for visiting our DONATIONS APPEAL page

The Society's appeal to raise £30,000 for the restoration of the Cucumber frame at the Walled Garden at Wollaton Park has been achieved in less than 12 months. Many thanks to everyone who has helped the Society to make this appeal such a success.

CUCUMBER HOUSE RESTORATION is nearing completion. When all panels are fully in place a preview will be arranged for members.

In the meantime you can see progress to date, and the rest of the garden.

VISITING THE WALLED GARDEN AT WOLLATON PARK:Tours will recommence in Spring 2023. For full details and to book your place use this link  https://wollatonhall.org.uk/walled-garden-tours/

Fundraising continues for other projects within the garden, such as an orchard and a heritage flower garden comprising varieties of plants listed in the Middleton archives, for which the Society's Secretary Angela Gilbert has various goods to offer. Contact via the webpage.

CUCUMBER HOUSE:  Built in 1864, the original base of the house is the only base remaining in the garden, indicating its exact location. The aim of the appeal is to restore the Cucumber House to its original condition by rebuilding the timber and glazed superstructure.

For our continued fundraising appeal, donations can be made either by bank transfer or by cheque:

Gift Aid Recovery Scheme

If you are a UK taxpayer, the Government’s Gift Aid Scheme allows us to reclaim the income tax (or Capital Gains Tax) you have already paid on donations.  This means another 25p for every £1.00 that you donate goes to the Society.

You must pay an amount of income tax and / or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that the Society, in addition to any other charities, may reclaim on your donations.
