With excellent weather the 21st August turned out to be a grand day for a car treasure hunt. Starting off from Abercrombie Farm a series of 55 clues and questions took enthusiastic hunters along minor roads and through glorious countryside.

There were puzzles and challenges galore - testing for even the most practised of hunters. Then after much head scratching, the route brought everyone to the ‘Eatooterie’ at Ovenstone 109. Points were totted up, a winner declared and then it was time for experiences, successes and possibly even failures to be shared - and for burgers and chips to be savoured.

A huge thank you to Carole and Ian Brunton (young farmers too) for their local knowledge and for the great deal of work that went into making the route and clues possible. And for a very enjoyable afternoon.
