Good Start

Well, considering the conditions I've had a rather good start to the biking year. January saw me finish with well over 200 miles on the clock which is the most I've ever done in a January, its normally a struggle to get past 100.

This past weekend I managed to grind out a 40 miler over to Newlands Corner and back on Saturday and followed that up with another 18 miles on Sunday on Leith Hill with George and Mike. Both rides were done on my Charge Duster 8 (Alfine hubbed geared bike) which I have to say I do find heavy but then again the gear changing throughout this muddy period has remained excellent.

On the Sunday I was hoping to use my kona Kula which feels super fast incomparison but alas, I only got a few yards from the house before finding that the gears weren't working at all which I put down to being frozen.

I keep taking the camera out with me to try and get some new kit pictures to put on this site but for what ever reason keep forgetting to use it, hopefully we'll put that right soon.

Not much else to add at the moment, Wednesday rides are still just about happening - after last weeks disaster for me I do plan on trying again this week. Also, a weekend in South Wales at Afan and Brechfa is planned for the last weekend of Feb which I'm really looking forward to - just got to sort out the accomodation (help).
