Home and Away

Another week and another few days of riding. After the previous saturday ride from Nirvana had seen a group of 20 turn up, this past Saturday with its wet weather saw that number more than halfed to a mere 6. Still, thats a good number for a group ride and off we headed into the hills.

The plan was to do a few Leith Hill trials then pop over to Holmbury hill, cover some of the best singletrck there then head to Peaslake for a tea break before heading back to Westcott.

Unfortunately I wasn't feeling at my best (nor was John) and having had the initial 10 mile ride to the start I decided to peel off home alone from Friday Street leaving the other 5 to complete the proposed route.

Still, it was nice to get back early and I still amassed 30 miles which is not to shabby for a Saturday morning.

Fast forward a couple of days and come Monday evening I grabbed the chance for a quick blast up to Coldharbour and around a few of the easier Redlands trails before meeting George & Mike in the Plough for a couple of pints. On returning home another 11 miles was clocked up as I head steadily towards my 3,000 target for the year.

Tomorrow night I'll be out again on the normal Wednesday ride although once again the numbers will be depleated as Huw, Charlie, Simon, Antony and Paul head off to Italy to play in real mountains.
