Golf Course by The Husky

Its not often that I have parked up at a truck stop looking on to a golf course and have the opportunity to play.  Today was such a day and I planned to take full advantage of it. 

The Husky truckstop at Sicamous in BC is right beside a course although it is only a 9 holer I have wanted to play here for quite some time now. 

From what I could see from my truck it looked not too bad.  The green fees are $23 for the 1st 9 and $16 for the 2nd 9, it seemed quite steep but this is BC, bring cash!  So I opted for 9 holes with the option to play the 2nd 9 if I wished.  The first 3 tee shots are quite tight with trees down either side of the fairway.  

I started of with a nice easy 6!  Greens very soft and slow which I don't mind just means you have to hit the ball instead of being scared to tap it! The 3rd was a problem, hit 2 lovely drives threaded between 2 trees and I thought either on the green or not far away both balls nowhere to be seen, only conclusion I came up with was they carried the 300yd fairway and went into the boondie.  The final 6 holes were played 2 under not much trouble anywhere with plenty of easy par 4s for the bigger hitter one par 3 230 yds which is nice. 

I don't highly recomend this course as it is a bit pricy for what you get but I would be happy to play here again to get out for a game as I did enjoy my 9 holes.
