Introduction

Truck stops north America where do I start? Well if there is one thing about America they do have a fantastic road system, although some of the interstates could do with resurfacing, on the whole they are pretty good.
Truck stops are plentiful usually!  Walmart parking lots allow truck parking, the majority of diesel fueling points for trucks provide some parking.  The only problem I have found is that they are not very well signposted from the interstates, yes if you need Diesel, but not if you are looking for parking.
Rest areas are plentiful and tell you how far the next rest area is from the one you are aproaching.  The way I work while in America I like to park up in rest areas at night as I know I will have more of a chance getting a parking spot late at night.
I am afraid there are a distinct shortage of actual truck stops in Canada, which was a big surprise to me since trucking is so very important to the Canadian economy.  Yes I have never had a problem parking up in a truck stop in Canada to date but if you are wanting to drive your hours and fill your log book and you know you wil need to park up in the middle of nowhere, there are very few parking areas on any road and the ones that are there, you need to know where they are as if its dark you will not see them until its too late.
I've decided to list a few that I go to, just do the clicking to have a look.
