The annual Inter Regionals had a move this year, transferring from Brean Sands to Hayling Island.  As always the RFC was well represented - Kon Tomczyk & Peter Beresford (playing with Dan Murphy) as Wales 5, Tansy Mayfield (playing with Gemma Foster & Julie bailey) as Wales 4, Paul Mayfield (with Gareth Jones & Jim Page) as Wales 7, and Pat Daviss (playing in her first Inter Regionals with Jim & Linda Hutchinson) in the Challenge.  Last year was the first time that Wales had survived the drop from Division one to Division 2, and we not only managed to stay up for a second year, we also crept up one place, ending in 5th – the best result Wales has had so far.  This was despite Tansy’s team having a tough time of it – winning just 2 games, and being pipped to the post on another 6 (we won’t talk about the other 4!).  Kon & Peter’s team, and Paul’s team were more than respectable, however, pulling in 6 wins apiece.  Pat also had a good weekend in the Challenge winning 5 games.  Well done to Wales – lets see if we can build on it again next year. Very well done to Chiltern the winners for the second year in a row – and well done also to the EPA organising committee, IoW tours and Mill Rythe/Park Dean who made it a great weekend – a very popular move.
