Match Report 6th May 2nds V Dulverton
Mystery of missing team
The clubs second team led by Les Rendall set of for the wilds of Dulverton around 1230 Sunday. Unfortunately they have not been seen or heard of since. Their disappearance is being investigated by the club secretary Russell Hilton. In a statement issued this morning Mr Hilton appealed for information. He stated that the club expected to lose up to 20% of personnel when they played in bandit country but this was beyond a joke. This loss has left many families alarmed . They now have lots of spare cricket kit and no one to wear it. He appealed for more information relating to this mystery. If nothing else the club appeals to the kidnappers to give us our NDL balls back as we have paid for them. Among those missing is junior club superstar Little James. His girlfriend Jessie Trollop is distraught with worry and said it would take her until at least Wednesday afternoon to get over it…or anyone else.

Back from the wilderness Les Rendall reports that bowling first we managed to hold the opposition to under 200 and the 187 looked for most of our innings to be a very obtainable target. Andy Crossman and John Gibson got  the innings going and Gary Say with a return to form 64 put us in a winning  position. Needing only 14 runs of 18 deliveries we managed to collapse with 7,8,9,10 and 11 getting only 2 between them. Newcomer Mark Anderson scored a commendable 29 in his first innings for the club but in the end, like the first team,  dropped catches cost us the match.
