The Byre

Our holiday letting unit, the Byre, was built in 1886 and has been creatively refurbished and decorated to provide a cosy space for two. The homely living room is warmed by a Morso Squirrel stove and from there, a spiral staircase coils its way up to the double bedroom above.
Outside the premises, a seating area allows you to enjoy the mature garden with fruit trees, vibrant flowers, and a small burn running through it. There are wonderful views over the Sound of Mull from south facing windows and there is plenty of wood provided to stoke the fire.
After a busy day exploring the inspirational landscape around Kilchoan, the 40” TV with DVD player and selection of films, allows some entertainment on blustery nights.
Ground floor: kitchen with dining area, bathroom & toilet, large living room with a high ceiling and multi-fuel stove. Spiral staircase leading to bedroom with king size bed.

Visitor Comments

"We have had a fabulous week here, walking for most of the day and returning to the peace and comfort of The Byre which feels more like a home than a holiday let! Thank you so much for the welcome - flowers on the table, a bottle of wine and the store alight.

"The Byre has been all that we hoped it would be - a quirky, comfortable holiday home, an excellent place to relax in wonderful surroundings and a good base for exploring this beautiful part of the country. Loved the stove - and the garden!

"The Byre" is by far the best holiday cottage I've stayed in. The sunlight floods in from all directions and it's even more homely than my own home. It's very well decorated and equipped, and ideally located for quick access to the ferry, shop, post office and pub, but still gloriously peaceful. We were entertained in the evenings by a bat swooping round the garden. I'll miss the place.
