Proposed Extension to the Building

There are 2 elements to the project:

1. Purchase of the existing building from HIE.

2. Construct an extension to the southern end of the building to house the additional facilites. At the same time we will carry out a comprehensive upgrading of the exterior of the existing building this will allow the old and new to merge seamlessly and provide a much more athestically pleasing building.

A key component of the upgrading works will be to significantly improve on the UV values of the building by increasing insulation and at the same time install renewable energy devices to provide heat and power.

Planning permission has been secured for a 5kw wind turbine to the north of the site and we are investigating options for PV panels on the roof and possibly and air source heat pump to replace the costly and inefficient night storage heaters.
