Alcohol

The House of Seagram was, in its day, the worlds largest distiller. Talk of “art for art’s sake”. In the early 1950s they commissioned 52 paintings of 22 Canadian cities. These were sent on a world tour as Ambassadors of Goodwill for Canada.

Magnet Pale Ale 1950s This is taken from a postcard reprint in the Opie 1950s Allure series. Imagery such as this to sell alcohol is now banned in the UK.	Cutty Sark Whisky 2001 .... and so it is in the US, but it didn't stop this type of image in 2001, for which they got into trouble!!!

Southern Comfort 1980s	Kopke’s Port 1920s Kopke was a German family that started in the port wine trade after moving from Hamburg to Lisbon in 1636. Reverse of this has a price list. Size 7½” x 10”.

Lord Calvert Canadian Whisky 1950s The connection between the picture of a Great Dane and this whisky?? Both are champions of course!	Rieger & Gretz, Brewers & Bottlers, Philadelphia 1970s reprint of a much earlier chromo ad. Size 6” x 11”. I am not averse to inexpensive reprints where the originals are unavailable or too expensive. This comment also applies to the next image.
