1930s oval box lid panel printers proof by James Haworth & Brothers. The imagery is of the Young Pretender surrounded by a gathering of well wishers. There is no named end user but I think it likely that its intended use was for Scottish Shortbread.

Another great retro look art ad - this one for Hovis bread. This style of advertising reminds consumers of continuity and stability of a proven product.

My parent's first (blk & w) TV was an ECKO. A national brand in its day - a large collection is now housed in the Priory Museum, Priory Park, Southend. (I was privileged to see the Bert Caton private collection before it was re-housed).

I am so lucky to live in the countryside that I love so much. And I love this picture - the caterpillar tracked tractor ploughing the field in a winter landscape with the sky lit by the sun of late afternoon, poetry!

WW2 sped up the mechanisation of farming in the UK as a result of the need for home grown food and shortage of manpower.

Peek Frean’s West Highland Shortbread
1930s box lid of top and side panels printers proof by James Haworth & Brothers. This was one of the last proofs sold by the dealer out of the Haworth folio hence the creases. Why it did not sell earlier with the lovely dog image I don’t know - my gain!
