The area

The Applecross peninsular is on the west coast of Scotland overlooking the Isle of Skye. The nearest large town is Inverness, 90 miles away. Applecross (10 miles) and Shieldaig (12 miles) each have a small village shop selling basic provisions (open mon-sat) and a village pub. Petrol is available at Applecross, Strathcarron (30 miles) and Kinlochewe (30 miles). The Torridon national park is 19 miles away.
