permaculture

Permaculture, is a way of thinking, a practical philosophy to live closer to the land, it includes:

· People Care

· Earth care

· Fair Share

The Findhorn Community core value of co-creating with nature is integrated into the ethics of permaculture and merges into spiritual ecology. The original barrel house was built of whisky Barrel wood, in the shape of a Barrel, it has since grown over the years and was redesigned, so it is 90% made out of localy recycled materials which were collected and used by Craig over the years as a demonstration of sustainable living and affordable housing. The house and garden are constantly growing and changing as a living being and an ongoing initiative which adapts to the changes within and without.

The Findhorn Foundation also offers the possibility of experiencing permaculture through the Spiritual Practice week-permaculture

We also offer activities with children and Youth making permaculture accasible to them through Storytelling, Games, and other activities such as: picking fruits, making jams, baking bread and workingin the garden. The children & youth can get a rare experience of the life of the house and garden and learn practicel skills. Activities are also avalabile for parents & Todlers.

Tours of the Permaculture garden and house are also available by appointment, please contact us.
