IAN GRIFFIN REMEMBERS KEYBOARD

Although this website looks back over the past 40 years, its release in 2017 coincides with anniversary of the Swansea Sound KEYBOARD programme which was first broadcast on 7th July 1977 (7.7.77) and to show how innovative it was all those years ago.

It has to be said, however, that sounds have changed over the years. going from analog to digital.   So keyboards would sound totally different on radio today.

To illustrate the point, have a look at the video below.   It is produced to show that what you see is what you get with no dubbing or multitracking.

TODAY

Forty years after playing on SWANSEA SOUND KEYBOARD, Ian Griffin has a huge following all over the UK at keyboard and organ clubs - in addition to his local appearances.

Ian is very proud if the fact that it all started at his local radio station.

The sales of Ian's CD's reflect on the popularity of his music and specail arrangements.   His latest CD is pictured below:-

One of Ian's achievements was being the personal accompanist to the late David Alexander, with whom he played on stage at theatres throughout the UK., including the Swansea Grand Threatre.

Ian's gift of perfect pitch enables him to play for singers in any key, as he often does at local venues.    Below is a Youtube video with West country entertainer, Andy Oakley, at a Keyboard Winter Warmer at the Sherborne Hotel in Dorset
