Dear Parents/Carers,
As you will be aware the Club closed on Thursday 19th March following the Welsh Assembly Government’s directive that all schools and childcare settings in Wales close due to the outbreak of Coronavirus infection. The closure period is to the end of the Easter vacation in the first instance but it is very likely that this will be extended much further.
Following advice from HMRC and Childcare Support Services in Wales, the Club has given staff leave of absence (furloughed) until further notice. Staff were paid as normal at the end of March and the Club is hoping to apply to the recently announced job retention scheme to claim 80% of staff wage costs during the period of closure. The club only pays rent to Torfaen CBC for the use of its premises when we are open so there will be no premises costs to pay during the closure period.
I should like to reassure those parents who currently have credit balances with the club, that their money is safe and that we have set aside sufficient reserves to cover the credit balances specifically and completely.
Normally registration for September starts in the summer term. As it is very likely that the club will remain closed during the summer term or for a substantial part of it, I am considering alternatives to our usual registration arrangements and will let you know about these in due course.
Keep safe,
John Turner
Registered person.
