Greetings to all readers! This is still a relatively new venture and web site, begun, in fact, earlier this month! I am still to-ing and fro-ing behind the scenes, working on a series of new designs which will, I hope, soon be for sale. As mentioned before (but where's the harm in repeating oneself every once in a while!) I intend this news section to have examples of ongoing work - sketches and the like - viewable by you not long after my pencil has had a chance to cool down! (Did that last sentence make sense?!).
Anyway, to keep the wheels turning, here's a copy of the original sketch I used to create the banner image. It was done entirely freehand - with no grids for guidance! I had made one other initial drawing which was expanded upon in this version and processed through 'Photoshop'. May I also add that this is not the way I usually work. By and large I hand-draw and paint designs but occasionally I do use computers for scanning drawings and for trying out colour schemes. There is something basically physical and elementally satisfying about working 'by hand' as it were - not to be underestimated! Of course, there's a lot more to it than just the hands...
