This work came about partly through an interest in Gothic cathedrals and by imagining what such a design would have to be were it laid out on a floor so that people could interact with its various elements. The labyrinth is an original adaptation from the medieval one at Chartre cathedral (c. 1220?). Chartre has 11 circuits. This one has 17.

Recently, I have been further exploring a fascination with labyrinths (sometimes to my amazement) and am in the process of developing a whole new series of work based on original designs and settings for these using Celtic patterns to enhance their properties and meanings.
