Seminar 2012
This year's seminar and GoJ AGM was held at Cairn O Mohr Winery, on Saturday 20th October.
The weather was kind to us - as was the management who treated us well on the day. Arriving in the forenoon, we had a tasting and discussion of six Cairn O' Mohr wines; a particularly nice one was the Autumn Oak Leaf, which was dry with a pleasant bouquet and mild, pleasant flavour.
Lunch consisted of soup and sandwiches - but what soup, and what sandwiches; both designed for the outdoor types.
After lunch we visited the shop before having a talk and DVD of the history of the business, then a conducted tour of the present setup. It is understood that, because we were fellow winemakers. were given a much more extensive tour of the winery.
The Winery is situated just off the Perth Dundee Road. Turn off at the Inchmichael Junction and go towards the Tay, the winery is one and a quarter mies along that road.
2013 Seminar.
This year's venue is Wellbank Hall, situated in the centre of Wellbank Village, Angus.
Majestic Wines will be presenting a tasting of commercial wines in the forenoon. Lunch will consist of soup and sandwiches. The GoJ A.G.M will be held immediately after lunch and will be followed by a talk on cellarcraft, presented by Dr.Brian Wood.
The seminar will conclude with an open forum. This is the time to air your views - or give your suggestions for the future of SAW.
