Sunday 13th September

Things are moving in our preparations for Phil to take up the post as Minister.

Look out for the call. Signing it is an important way of supporting Phil in his ministry.

We are working towards regularly opening the church building for worship on Sundays.

We will keep our worship online, to continue to make it as accessible as possible by as many as possible.

I’ll let you know more details as they are worked out.

For now the service will stream from 11:00 tomorrow and can be found  using the following link:

Keep safe,

Keep praying,

Every blessing

Prayer

We believe in God above us,

Creator of all things, sustainer of all life.

We believe in Christ beside us,

Companion and friend, redeemer of our broken universe.

We believe in Holy Spirit deep within us,

Advocate and guide, who lives with us eternally.

We believe in God above, beside, within,

God yesterday, today and forever,

the three in one, the one in three,

We believe in God.

Prayer for others

Lord’s prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name,

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread and

Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors

and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil

For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory for ever. Amen

Isaiah 43: 16-21

This is what the Lord says— he who made a way through the sea,
a path through the mighty waters,

who drew out the chariots and horses,

the army and reinforcements together,

and they lay there, never to rise again,

extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

The wild animals honour me, the jackals and the owls,

because I provide water in the wilderness

and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen,

the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.

2 Corinthians 5:14-21

Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.  And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

So, from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!  All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
