Stirling Castle

sits atop a 250 foot high rock and has been closely involved in the history of Scotland.
The present Castle dates largely from the 15th-16th centuries although some of it is 12th century.
The ‘Theme’ of the Castle is the 16th century reign of King James V (r.1513-1542) and his French wife Mary of Guise.
