Sat 17th March at the Standing Stones Hotel, Stenness seen the inaugural Davy Cooper Memorial Singles staged with the trophy kindly donated by Wendy Cooper. A good turn out of 37 gathered for the 3pm start despite other events taking place the same day and some players struck down by illness.

  Jim McDill came out the eventual winner with a 5-3 win over Stevie Linklater, Jim took command early on and led 4- 1 before Stevie fought back but Jim held his nerve to win the trophy kindly donated by Wendy.

  Jim McDill is the player of the moment as he secured the WMDA Men's Singles for the second time defeating Lennie Clouston 4 - 3 of the Stenness in the final with an excellent entry of 37.
