The first event for the Liz Stevenson Cup took place in the Masonic. With a top prize of £ 200 the event attracted entries from all over Orkney and Shetland. Susie Bain and Yvonne Stanger of the Pomona Ladies reached the final, with Yvonne lifting the cup and the £ 200 after wining 4 - 2. Susie won the £ 100 for the runner position. Highest finish went to Lorraine Bradley also with 107 which secured another £ 50 for her.

Brian Stevenson presented the cup on behalf of the Stevenson family and Robert Petrie presentened the prizes on behalf of Kairds who kindly sponsored the event.
