HONBY No.2 SIGNAL CABIN, Circa 1948.
HONBY No.2 SIGNAL CABIN, Circa 1948.
First post-war version of the Hornby Signal Cabin, pre-war style tinprinting, hinged roof, tan interior & steps, issued for the 1948-49 season, export only. Arguably the rarest item in the collection, I believe that only a couple of other examples are known to exist(?) Dean imported this from Canada, the scratches on the left-hand end & damage to box base are a result of the UK customs examination!! It had been in mint condition. Buff box with yellow export label.

HORNBY No.2 SIGNAL CABIN,Circa 1955.
Final version of the Hornby Signal Cabin, issued 1955-57 two seasons only. Revised tinprinting & orange roof. The underside of the base flange has picked up a few patches of discolouration due to contact with the box staples otherwise near mint. Very good to excellent box, dated 6:55.

HORNBY No.1 FOOTBRIDGE, Circa 1955.
HORNBY No.1 FOOTBRIDGE, Circa 1955.
Final version of the Hornby Footbridge lithographed representation of concrete panel construction. Superb example, ex shop stock with a couple of tiny scratched on one side. Unusually for an orange box this one has a date code for 2:55, possibly the first batch issued, light edge wear to lid from years of storage, complete with inner packing card.
HORNBY No.1 FOOTBRIDGE, Circa 1955.£85.00
HORNBY No.3 STATION, Circa 1953.
HORNBY No.3 STATION, Circa 1953.
Super bright clean example, Hornby tinprinting at its best with great details. A personal favourite! There are a couple of tiny marks on the ramps otherwise near mint condition. A rather disappointing box, dated 6:53, which I would only rate as good.

HORNBY ISLAND PLATFORM 'WEMBLEY', Circa 1953.
HORNBY ISLAND PLATFORM 'WEMBLEY', Circa 1953.
One of the harder to find ‘Named’ Island Platforms. One old dull scratch to the roof (hardly shows) & a couple of small scuffs on the ramps, overall an excellent example. Again, a rather disappointing box with a careful repair to the lid, dated 10:53. Probably one of the last batches issued.
HORNBY ISLAND PLATFORM 'WEMBLEY', Circa 1953.£150.00
HORNBY No.1 FOOTBRIDGE, Circa 1949, RARE.
HORNBY No.1 FOOTBRIDGE, Circa 1949, RARE.
The rarest of the Hornby Footbridges, revised pressing with solid sides & rivet detail but still in the earlier grey & green enamel finish. Believed that only one batch of these were issued. Not obvious signs of use, probably old shop stock, small area of paint loss corner of one base (damp lifting?). Rather tired box but then it is 71 years old, dated 7:49, but dose come with rare inner packing card.
