A wandering agapanthus

Over the years we've discovered many seedlings growing a far distance from their parent plants: cowslips, cotoneaster, buddleia, practically every variety of geranium in the garden, and our favourite blue agapanthus.

From the original two patio pots, seedlings have spread through the gravel to the nearby brick wall and all along the edge of the pond. Imagine our surprise when we first saw agapanthus-like leaves growing along the verge at the front of the house on the Causeway! Two summers later the first blossoms have appeared.
