Finally, we put our bird feeders up today - five days after 'Feed the Birds' day. For the past two years we have sited the feeders under an Acer 'Crimson King' in a safe and sheltered location. However, it was at the far end of the garden, and we couldn't see the birds from the house.
This year we've decided to use an overgrown tree in the heather bank as a 'pole' for the feeders. It may be too close to the house, but we hope the birds will become accustomed to the activity at the kitchen door - and we'll be able to enjoy watching them.
