The purpose of the Norlands Estate Information and Support Service (NEISS) is to give a sense of community, promote neighbourliness and enhance residents’ enjoyment from living here. This applies to residents of all ages and parts of the estate.
- NEISS was formed in 2008 following an initiative by a resident, who was inspired by an article in the New York Times, describing self help groups in several communities in the USA.
- NEISS provides information, including quality service providers suggested by members, such as plumbers, electricians, double glazing and gardening contractors etc., connects and supports residents through a range of social activities, events and social media, and provides practical help and support offered by members. See FAQs for further details about NEISS.
- NEISS has a Constitution and a Privacy Policy, copies of which are available to members on the Members’ Information page. In addition, although not required to register with the Information Commissioner's office, NEISS conforms to the principles of the Data Protection Acts 1998 and 2003, and the General Data Protection Regulations May 2018. We take all reasonable steps to ensure that the data collected about its members is treated confidentially.
