DESIGN A FAIRTRADE LOGO FOR MONTROSE

By choosing to buy Fairtrade products YOU can make a difference!

The Fairtrade foundation is an organisation which supports farmers and workers in developing countries to get a fair deal by helping to create better trade conditions. By choosing to buy Fairtrade products, as individuals, we can make a difference to these families and communities.

Montrose is now a Fairtrade town, with both schools and businesses supporting the foundation by selling Fairtrade products. As the town is now setting up its own Fairtrade website, we would like you to design a logo for it.

The winning design will take pride of place alongside the Fairtrade Mark, and should incorporate three ideas:

• Fairtrade for all
• Links to Montrose as a Fairtrade town
• How we can all make a difference

Your logo should be presented on A4 paper and any colours or shapes may be used.

The challenge is open to all ages and stages and is limited to one entry per class. The winning pupil from each class should write their name, class and school on the back of each entry. One winner will be chosen from these entries.

Closing date: Wednesday 28 January 2009

(Entries should be ready for collection from your school on this day.)
