Doreen Sheard - still involved with music
Doreen Sheard remembers the time she was invited to have her own teaching class at Pontin's Home Electronic Organ Festival at their Tower Beach Holiday Centre in 1981. It was the start of her many appearances at the various events that followed.
Doreen is now active with The Aughton & Ormskirk University of the Third Age, which is part of the national network of U3A groups. It is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment. It provides educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. Skills & experiences are shared in a variety of ways through meetings, social & group activities.
Pictured right is Doreen at the 1982 Home Electronic Organ Festival at Pontin's Tower Beach, Prestatyn, where her rise to fame started.
In 2011 Doreen was thrilled to have a musical memory made for her eighth birthday, which has been put on YouTube.
We are delighted to show this video below and to wish Doreen many more happy years giving pleasure to others.
