VANDALS ATTACK COMMUNITY TREES
14 January 2014

Three of the trees in the open space adjacent to Nairn Cemetery were sawn down by vandals over the festive period.

These trees give a wonderful show of spring blossom. They were planted in 2000 by KNC's predecessor, Green & Beautiful Nairn, and students from Cantraybridge College. The students have looked after them since then by strimming off the suckers and dead branches, and KNC with the help of volunteers have planted thousands of bulbs around the trees to enhance the spring display.

It is very disappointing and frustrating that someone has so little regard to the benefit these trees bring to Nairn, and the time, effort and money that has gone into creating this spring show which so many people walking the path to the riverside and motorist on the Grantown Road enjoy each year.
