Snowdrop Planting in Viewfield
09 April 2025

The snowdrops planted by Keeping Nairnshire Colourful around Nairn: along the riverside, among the trees in the Cemetery field and at the Leisure Park have put on a lovely display this year but, sadly, are now past their best and other KNC bulbs are bringing spring colour to the town.

Having organised several years of splitting and replanting the snowdrops with members of the community on both sides of the paths along the riverside, the Chair of KNC, Annie Stewart, decided to make a change this year.

Annie wanted to add more clumps to the few that already exist in Viewfield Park. So KNC volunteers dug up hundreds of snowdrops, bagged them up and handed them out to local residents to plant alongside the paths through the park and around the boundary between the trees, with the hope they will survive the dry spell and put on a good display next spring.
