Shapinsay Agricultural show 2016
This summer we took some of our sheep to the Agricultural show for the first time. It was quite a steep learning curve. Cara won second from 2 in the sheep dog class... I'm not sure if my nerves were very helpful to her.. but she was a star considering she and I had no clue what was expected of us ;-)
Learning how to wash and primp sheep for the show helped me understand how to get my pure bred Jacob lambs ready for sending south to the rare breeds sale, and winning a couple of rosettes was also rather a surprise .. and fun.
Trip' our most stately Jacob ewe.. this year she was mother to a huge single ram lamb ('Handsome') who we are keeping to show, and also to sell at next years ram sale.
