INVERNESS SHINTY CLUB UNDER 17’S V GLENGARRY 31/05/2016
Score Line – Glengarry 4 Inverness 5
Report from Allan MacLeod, Coach for ISC Youth
A game of two halves where the first half performance was below par, but the second saw a complete squad improvement to secure the win.
We got off to a dream start by scoring with less than a minute on the clock with a cracking strike from Michael Chisholm. However this proved to be more of a setback than a catalyst and we thought it was too easy and switched off. We let Glengarry back into the game and went 3 – 1 down. Michael Chisholm got his second of the match to make it 3 – 2, only for Glengarry to make it 4 – 4 before half time.
Half time afforded us an opportunity to review things and to discuss what changes in attitude were required to turn things around.
The second half was a fairly one way affair with the Inverness team having 75% of the play and creating a number of chances. We pressed well and scored twice through Jack Craig and sealed the win in injury time with Michael Chisholm scoring his third goal.
On the balance of play we created enough opportunity to win the game however a draw would have been a fair reflection of the overall game.
24/05/2016 away to LOVAT
(Development League)
Lovat 10 - Inverness 0
Match report by Allan MacLeod (coach)
After a few late call offs we had 9 players for our development league 9 a-side match with Lovat at Balgate.
A real game of two halves withthe first half showing a determinded performance, scoring opportunities being created and players competing across the park. The half time score was 1 v 0.
The second half was a different story with a couple of injuries taking there tole on key players and against a brisk wind we slumped to a 9 - 0 second half loss.
Despite a gulf in the scoreline the return match at the Bught should be a far closer affair provided everyone makes themselves available and we all play as a team and to the skill level which we have.
04/05/16 - Score line - Inverness 6 Glengarry 0
Report from Drew McNeil, Head Coach for ISC.
Firstly I need to congratulate Glengarry for their positive attitude and consistent effort throughout the tie.
Secondly the Inverness boys and girls played closer to their potential and carried out instructions set out before the match. As a coach or player the rewards can be fleeting so it’s important to enjoy this performance but move on to the next match taking all the positive energy into it.
There is a lot more to improve on so that’s why the whole squad will work together on. More players will have the opportunity to come into the squad so the 10 tonight needn’t get comfortable.
