INVERNESS SHINTY CLUB UNDER 14’S v KINGUSSIE  27/05/16

FIRST ROUND OF THE MACMASTER CUP

Score line – INVERNESS 0 KINGUSSIE 10

Coach, Allan MacLeod, has submitted this match report for this game.

A tough night at the office of the under fourteen squad.

The score line does not reflect the effort and determination of the players involved and everyone in the squad battled from the first whistle to the last.  The simple fact is we came up against a stronger team than we were.

Despite a heavy loss there are lots of positives to take from the match.

The ever increasing band of primary school players all played very well and this bodes well for the future.  Zac MacNeil played his first match at full back and did very well.  Hannah Johnson played her first match for a couple of weeks following injury and came through the game well.  And the most important thing is that we never gave up and continued to compete until the final whistle.  We also need to learn from the match, take notes from the way our opponents played and use this to assist us in getting better.

Last match of this phase of the league is at home v Beauly. Lets look to end this wth a win........

INVERNESS ISC UNDER 14'S AWAY TO NEWTOMORE 13/05/16

Score line – Newtonmore 0 – Inverness 5 (Finlay Calder 3, William MacKinnon 2)

Report from Drew McNeil, Head Coach for ISC (in attendance of team)

Everyone played their part and contributed positively to a result that was great but it didn’t come as a surprise to the coaches who feel  there is a lot more to come from the group tonight and the others who were unavailable…..

Feet on the ground time, keep improving the stick skills and listening to your coaches………………….

Seriously well done TEAM

INVERNESS SHINTY CLUB UNDER 14’S AGAINST BEAULY 06/05/16

Score line – Beauly 2 Inverness 3 (Finlay Calder - 1, William MacKinnon - 2)

Report from Drew McNeil, Head Coach for ISC.(in attendance of team)

Turned out to be a hard fought win after leading 1v0 then losing 1v2 but the team showed enough spirit to not accept defeat…….

Inverness’s forward play tonight was more constructive and will take time to work more effectively but there is no reason why we can’t expect better, consistent approach play.

There were some lulls in this performance which will be costly against better teams.  If Inverness can field a full strength team v Newtonmore, negate the “quiet spells”, create/carve out chances and take them with consistency they will win at the Eilean.

ENJOY YOUR SHINTY where ever it takes you.

ISC UNDER 14'S vs NEWTONMORE UNDER 14'S - FRIDAY 22ND APRIL 16

Score Line - Inverness 0 - Newtonmore 3

Match Report from Head Coach Allan MacLeod

"The first under fourteen game of the season was at home against Newtonmore - a tricky match.

First outing for our new srips - once again many thanks to our strip sponsors Alex Craib of Crane Competence (Scotland) Ltd for the fantastic support.

Overall it was a strange game where the better team lost.

We played some really nice shinty - good passing play - but failed in the final third to really threaten the goal.  Overall a good squad performance but we can do better.

The night marked the first under forteen game for Taighan Murray and Calum Tuckwood - well done to both these guys.

Big thanks to Evan MacRae for refereeing the game and to the normal fantastic support which we attract at home - very much appreciated.

Next Friday sees us on the road to Kingussie - another tough but winnable game"
