The Isle of Skye Language Centre is located on the pier in scenic Portree, the capital of the Isle of Skye. The Language Centre offers classes in English as a Second Language plus classes in Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Gaelic, and German.  Tutors are available for other languages such as Polish, Czech, and Hindi. 

Classes are small with an average of 6-8 students per instructor.  Currently, classes are held in six week sessions at an hour and a half a week, however, intensive language classes will be on offer for the summer months. 

Examples of English classes on offer include conversation for beginning and intermediate learners, English for restaurant employees, English for the construction industry, and Cambridge Examination First Certificate instruction. Private lessons are also available. New:  ENGLISH FOR PARENTS---a conversation, reading and writing class for parents whose first language is not English.  See CLASSES and CALENDAR for information.

We are fortunate to have some excellent foreign language teachers here on Skye, so can offer classes in Greek, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Czech, Hindi, Gaelic, and Portuguese. Requests have been made for Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, and Latvian.  As tutors become available, we will also offer these classes.
