Today we all worked on different parts of the long trench. I helped dig one area, taking off a small layer of dirt coming down onto clay. Other people were taking samples, cleaning, taking photographs, filling in the forms. I really enjoyed finding the different layers. There was a cuckoo singing in the background and we think there is a skylark nest nearby.
