SEASON 2011/12

(Click on the date of the concert, to get more information about the programme)

Our season begins in spectacular fashion on 21st September, with a piano recital by one of Britain's foremost pianists, Steven Osborne. His recital includes Beethoven's magical "Moonlight" sonata.

On 12th October, we welcome back the wonderful Carducci String Quartet, in a concert where quartets by Mozart and Beethoven are interspersed by Shostakovich's powerful Quartet No. 10.

Guitarists will love to hear the Vida Guitar Quartet, including Mark Ashford, on 16th November, presenting works by Turina, de Falla and Bizet's exciting "Carmen" suite.

The Diamond Divas, who were very well received on their previous visit to us, promise that their concert, on 7th December, will have a special "Christmassy" feel to it.

The award-winning, intriguingly-named Liquid Architecture present the opening concert of the New Year on 10th January, which includes one of chamber-music's best-loved works - the Schubert Octet.

On 15th and 16th February, cellist Robert Michael and pianist Daniel Tong play all 5 Beethoven cello sonatas. Nos.1, 3 and 4 will be played for the ICM audience: the others will be played at lunchtime tomorrow.

The ICM performance of Schubert's "Trout" quintet 5 years ago, produced our first full house. The reprise of the work on 20th March, by Alastair Beatson and friends, preceded by his Piano Trio No. 1, promises to be as popular.

In April, the winner of the Moray Piano Competition 2011, will give what may be his or her first professional recital.

On 9th May, our season ends with a remarkable duo - Andrea and Djorje Gajic present works on violin and accordion in classical and gypsy style.
