About Us
Inverness Chamber Music started when two friends, Niall Ramsay and Colin Brown, had the idea of promoting live chamber music in Inverness. Encouraged by Enterprise Music Scotland, they formed a committee and, in 1994, held their first concert, by the Yggdrasil string quartet, in the school hall of Charleston Academy. Colin's work meant he had to move away from Inverness but Niall remained as Chairman until 2007. The venue also changed; after a brief spell at the Station Hotel, our performances are now given in the glorious surroundings of the Main Hall at the Town House, Inverness.
