Tackle & Tips

Keeping "Midges at bay"

Just to keep you informed that midges are the only major problem when fishingin the highlands and the only time you don’t feel them biting is when you have a fish on the rod, but as soon as the excitement is over ,THERE BACK!,
Many ,many products are on the market and some work and some don’t, the one that do are usually quite expensive.
Please try the tips, and if you have any to offer, that are not the usual, please let us know
Two tips. one that is known quite widely now is SOS (skin so soft) From Avon products, ask the wife to buy you some (its cheaper that way), and you smell quite nice, and soft skin, and albeit, it does keep them bliters away, but you do have to replenish regulary.
The other so far,I have just heard about, is BOUNCE, the fabric softner sheets for the tumble drier. apparently you put a sheet in your top pocket,in your hat ,around your neck(loosely), and ...... well I have’t tried them yet ,but its supposed to do the job.there will be an update later in year!.
