The Black Cuillin Hills at Dawn Tim took this photograph on Skriag's summit, the hill behind and far above Heronfield. You would need to get up very early and climb in inhosptable terrain to reach this vantage point, around 400 metres above sea-level. The Cuillin Hills are renowned worldwide amongst mountain climbers and one of Skye's many jewels. Their summits vary but 11 are over 990 metres high. |

Brandy our Irish Terrier Brandy quickly settled into life at Heronfield and although quite a lot smaller than Dodger our wonderful Irish Terrier male who died in 2013; has become quite a character in her own right - indeed a very mischievous young lady in fact. No wonder that Irish Terriers are called "red devils"! She has become great pals with Jack our black and white cat. If you don't like dogs, and we realise not everyone does - do not worry since Brandy has separate accommodation at Heronfield and unless you wish to; you need never meet her. |

Jack On Christmas Eve 2012 a new kitten 'Jack' arrived at Heronfield where he first met Dodger our Irish Terrier during Dodger's last months with us. When Brandy arrived also within a few weeks, Jack soon accepted that he had to share Heronfield with Brandy and they have become good pals although the game of "dog chasing cat" and "cat taunting dog" could well have been invented just for them. Again, as with Brandy we appreciate not everyone likes cats or dogs and both Jack and Brandy do not have regular access to the guest areas within Heronfield, so anyone with allergies need not worry. |
