TECHNICAL STUFF

Trackbed - Mostly decking boards, used smooth side up. Supported in a variety of ways a) Brackets fixed to a sustantial fence b) timber posts in Metpost sockets c) low piers built with reformed stone blocks d) polypropelene waste pipe, anchored in brick and concrete foundations. A short section has been rebuilt as a breeze block embankment roughly faced with cement.

The Inverstarve station area decking boards are laid on a treated timber framework laid on short brick walls. One length of the main circuit is laid between parallel walls acting as front retainer to a raised bed. The gap is infilled with concrete with a final smooth surface of waterproof cement.

Track - Main circuit largely PECO SM32 with a few yards of Tenmille. Some sidings are Merlin "keyhole" section rail in slotted wooden sleepers.

Pointwork - All points except one are PECO SM32. The exception is Tenmille, used because it is slightly shorter and every inch was critical in the location involved.

Signalling - As yet none

Buildings - So far only Inverstarve station has had any sort of scenic treatment. The small buildings are kits from a variety of suppliers with a scratch built Coalman's bothy. The little extras on this building come mainly from Back2Bay6.
