 DAY 1

A total of 67 players sat at the 9 tables including 7 ladies

 
Action started at 12.00 noon with the biggest pot early doors going to GRAHAM CLIFTON against BATCH. Graham having the higher straight with the A. After a few games the raffle for early entry was drawn for an HPT seat. This was won by Gareth "THE Banker" Hockin. Gareth receives a free entry to a HPT event of choice.

First player out was MARK "Mark E Shark" URQHUART who had trip 4's with a K kicker. He pushed all in only to be beaten by COLIN CAMPBELL who had trip 4's with the Ace.
 
Being first out Mark wins a seat for the HPT tour. 
 
 
First session ended with 2 players out. There was a bad beat on table 9. Hard lines to MICHEAL with full house A's and 5's only to be beaten by CALUMS quad 5's hitting on the river.
 
 SESSION 2 
   
1st player out at this point had pocket 10's only to be beaten by pocket J's
On table 2 BATCH went out to GRAHAM who had K's against Batch's 10's.
3.30 pm Only 6 players out at this stage: could be a long day. ALI MACGILLIVRAY raised with pocket A's and the short stack went all-in with pocket J's. Small stack doubling up with a J on the river.  CHUNK called all-in with pocket A's and COLIN(LOON) folded his pocket 8's but the flop showed 8,7,K-5-8!!!!!! How unlucky can you get?????
 
4.55 pm  ROBERT ousted CHIPMONKIE at this stage. Robert showed A 10 The Monkie showed K Q suited after a raise, re-raise then all-in Robert hit 2 pir on the turn to put Chipmonkie (not hitting one of his 13 outs for nut flush or straight) is out in 54 place.

SESSION 3
 
 
50 players remaining at this stage. First man out this session was COLIN CAMPBELL to BATMAN'S pair of A's .Ali Macgillivray went out with pocket 10's to CELIO'S pocket A's.

TOM REID had pocket K's, STUART ATKINSON had J 8 diamonds. Stuart flopped a flush draw then hit the flush on the river. However shortly after Stuart had A K against SNAPPER'S pocket Q's flop comes A Q K turn J river J Stuart raised, Snapper went all-in Stuart called. Snappers full house takes the pot. Stuart then got pocket A's and went all in ADRIAN called with A K flop comes J Q 8 Turn 6 River 10.  Stuart gets beaten trip A's against Ace high straight.

JASON aka LIZARD wrote his own epitaph here so you can fill in the blanks yourself!!!!! DANGEROUS DAVE &!@**@! kicks the Lizards butt. DD raised, Lizard re-raised, DD went all in and lizard called. The Lizard had A K suited D D had pocket A's.

7 pm 35 players left very cautious play so far, everyone wants to be here tomorrow. ROBERT LOVE went all-in and BEAVIS called, Flop 2,2,6 turn 2 river 5 Robert shows K 10 but Beavis showed 9 6. Full house wins.

7.15 pm 4 tables left with 30 players.

SESSION 4.
 
Steady play throughout till 8.10pm down to 26 players. Batman called all-in with K K and they held up against Grahams A K. Robert Love rivered Lizard to put him out with K K. Unfortunatley Tracy went out at this stage, leaving her highest placed lady in the tournament.
Down to 25 players RAE FINLAYSON called all-in with J Q suited CHUNK called with A 6 Chunk hits A on the flop and now down to 24 hardy players to return tomorrow. The rest of the night was enjoyed by all with some games tables being played.

DAY 2 SESSION 1 29-08-10.
.
24 players started. Blinds 3000/6000 Cautious start with many all-ins but no calls. Around mid afternoon the hand of the weekend emerged with GARETH all-in with Q 9. EUAN called with K 10 Clubs. By the turn Euan had the nut flush but he hit the ROYAL FLUSH on the river with th J clubs. Congratulations to Euan who earned a nice bottle of malt.

There were a few raises and calls coming but no-one was moving. BEAR then went all-in pre flop with J 10 BEAVIS called with A Q winning the hand with pair of 7's with A kicker.

With 14 players left BEAVIS raised to 18,000 pre-flop with Q Q making SNAPPER go all in with J J Beavis ' Q's held up Now 13 to go.
 
 
Exit Bob "Snapper" Grant tournament time keeper.
Again falling to Graeme "Beavis" Mooney.
At least this time it wasn't to a J 5 off.

BATMAN goes all-in pre flop with K K, Chunk called with A J board reads 868-2-K giving Batman the full house. As he had Chunk covered Bruce carries on.

9 players left now. Dave goes all-in preflop with J 10 Euan calls with A Q and hits the A on the flop to make it to the final table.
 
 
 Dangerous Dave bubbles the final table.
Never mind Dave your 9th place finish

Some steady,cautious play for a while then action, BEAVIS goes all-in pre-flop with A K and DOZY calls with K K, with the kings holding up Dozy wins the pot and Beavis leaves the tournament in 8th place.
 
 
 
Now things were beginning to pick up with a couple of small calls but nothing big until after the blinds DOZY raised to 24,000 with K K. Bruce went all-in and Dozy called. Bruce turned over A A which held up. Dozy leaves in 7th place.
 
 
After another couple of close games, more action. After 4 straight calls the flop went J,9,6. John "Q10" Newlands calls all-in with 101,500 and Charlie calls. John shows K 9 with Charlie showing J 10 turn card is 10 and river is J. Charlie wins with full house. John finishes in 6th place.
 
SESSION 2 - FINAL 5 players. blinds 5000/10,000
 
Very steady play with not much going on. Blinds are now 6,000/12,000. Steady againwith a few all-ins and no calls. Then Graham Clifton went all-inwith 71,900 with Q J Charie calls with pocket 5's. Graham hits a J on the flop to keep him in. A few more cautious rounds then Graham knocked Euan out with K Q hitting a Q on the flop. Euan finishes in 5th place.

Now down to 4 players
 
SESSION 3
 
started at 7,500/15,000 blinds. Much of the same steady playfor 2 to 3 hands. Bruce then bets all-in against Graham , who calls. Bruce shows K K which held up against Graham's AK

Blinds now at 10,000/20,000 with 3 players left. The calls are now few and far between with each player picking upm a few thousand chips from one another. DAVID went all-in with A 9 and short stacked Bruce called with A 5 as the board appeared 2 2 8 - J-K. It was a split pot with Batman breathing a sigh of relief. Bruce then went on to double up with 2 pair against Charlie, at this stage its anybodys game.

Blinds are now 20,000/40,000
 
After a couple of hands we saw some more action when after the betting Charlie raised to 80,000. David folded and Bruce Shipped all-in with 165,000. Charlie called. Bruce had A 9 while Charlie showed K 10 as the board read 8,J,3-7-3 Bruce claimed a healthy pot with his Ace.
 
After another few rounds David "Pickles" Nicolson calls Charlies big blind. The Batman folds his small blind. The flop comes 3 8 5 both check turn comes 7 Charlie bets 70,000 Pickles pushes all-in as he had done several times before after a Charlie call or raise. Charlie asks David to confirm his all-in raise before stating thats what I was waiting for. Charlie turns over 9 6 "The Nuts" Pickles looks sick as a parrot he had slow played his pocket KK and took the chance. David is drawing dead don't think he will slow play KK again for a long time. Unlucky David finished in 3rd place.

NOW ITS HEADS UP BRUCE AKA BATMAN V CHARLIE POOR CHARLIE CUMMING a repeat of the 2010 North of Scotland Poker Championship Heads-up final
 
2 to 3 rounds and no action till, with the blinds at 30,000/60,000 flop goes 10 J 8 then Bruce called Charlies bet of 100,000 turn card was a 9 after which it was checked by both players. River produced a 9 then Bruce went all-in with 590,000. Charlie takes a few minutes then apologies he needs some more time to think the hand through. after thinking long and hard maybe 10 minutes total. Charlie then decided to call. Bruce showed K 4 a total bluff. Charlie turns over 7 4 to give him a JACK HIGH STRAIGHT and the NO 1 SPOT in the tournament.

BRUCE finished in a Heroic 2nd place
and receives his 2nd place silver medal from The Guvnor

going all thinkink she had a 10 for a straight. When she turned her cards Susie had a 9 not the required 10.
