Friends Of Wallbank's first ever Halloween Party was held last Saturday at the Workers, Whitworth. Around a hundred zombies, witches and vampires came along to join in the fun and just short of £200 was raised through donations and raffle tickets. This will be used towards a Christmas Party which promises to be even better!
The party included a childrens entertainer and a disco as well as free food and competitions. Entrants to the competition were of an exceptional standard and it was incredibly difficult to choose the winners. The competitions were judged by the Mayor and Mayoress of Whitworth and prizes included a couldren full of spooky sweets donated by S Bennion Plastering And Property Maintenance and a handmade trick or treat bag from Handmade by Mel Hearn both based in Whitworth.
The raffle was also a huge success with prizes donated from local people and businesses such as a Halloween bouquet from Seasons Florists, Driving lessons from Daytona Driving School and a bottle of Whiskey from Whitworth Valley News. Links to all of the businesses that have helped us along the way can be found on the links page.
Friends Of Wallbank would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and to everyone who donated prizes and helped to raise funds.
