LEAGUE TROUBLES CONTINUE
LEAGUE TROUBLES CONTINUE Fortrose crashed to a 0-2 home defeat against their old foes from along the road this evening. Fortrose were never at the races and, if truth be told, did not deserve anything from the match. Avoch took an early lead when Robbie McDougal headed home from six yards with replacement goalkeeper Etheridge stranded. Fortrose had a stone wall penalty turned down when Callum MacIver was brought down by the Avoch goalkeeper on 25 minutes. This was one of many incidents where the ref seemed to favour the visiting team as they were time and again allowed to rough up their opponents. Fortrose battled away in the second half but never looked like scoring and Avoch sealed the win on 55 minutes when Carl Jack bundled the ball in from 10 yards after a fast counter attack. Fortrose subs Davy MacIver and Owen Robinson were ineffective out of position and the team seemed disjointed as a result. A bad day at the office for everyone unfortunately.
