Left Winger | Callum MacIver
Callum has become a key player in recent seasons but faced a pre season battle with life threatening illness. showing signs of recapturing past form after overcoming a long recovery process. dangerous.
Creative Talent | Davy MacIver
Davy is now one of the elder statesmen of the team. Controversially benched for parts of last season he has once again emerged as a key player. A move further forward has paid off and hopefully he can add some pep to the Union attack.
Sweeper | Robert Cooper
Jake is Mr Fortrose. Hurt his shoulder moving cash around his house during the winter and has yet to regain the full use of his arm. Determined to play his 34th season in the Ross-Shire league (Two short of Alan Cuthberts all time record).
Left Midfield | Patrick MacGarvey
This should be the season when Patch finally makes the left midfield spot his own. Has been in great form over the winter and has improved the physical aspect of his game tremendously.
Striker | Kevin Keith
Kevin's return to the Union last year was very welcome and he had a solid first season. Hopefully this year he can be the match winner he always threatens to be.
Injured | Davy Douglas
Davy, like fine wine, improves with age. However, will we have to wait for the 2008 vintage? Serious knee knack inflicted by Abernethy will restrict playing time this year.
Left Back | Iain MacKay
Kai is emerging as one of Fortrose's most reliable players. He likes a tackle and can play a bit too. Captain material who will be a major player this year.
Defender | Gordon White
Gordy was the revelation of the 2006 season. He burst onto the scene with a series of commanding performances at the back and will hopefully be the same force this year. However, a drunken binge lasting several months has taken the edge of his fitness.
Player/Coach | Alan Cuthbert
Cuthy has taken the reigns at the club this year and as a result a renewed sense of purpose has been distilled in the squad. Can still play a bit too despite advancing years.
Defender | Garf
In his debut season Garf impressed when given the chance. His reading of the game is second to none and his technique is polished. The new Davy Douglas? He'll have to be!
Central Midfield | Brendan McGarvey
Brendan is possibly Fortrose's star player and his return from a career threatening injury has been a major boost for the club. Has performed well in pre-season and is seeking help for a chronic gambling addiction.
Suspended | Kenneth Whyte
It's been a lean season so far for the injury hit frontman but his banter remains good so all is forgiven!
Defender | Andrew Fraser
Perm is one of the longest serving players at the club. Devastating pace complimented by a wealth of experience and maturity.
Defender | Paul Urquhart
Young Paul made good progress in his first season as a Union man. Paul can't kick the ball with his right foot because it literally doesn't exist.
Midfield | Keith Abernethy
Keith is one of Fortrose's biggest personalities and is known for his constant high jinx. Hopefully he can focus some of his energy into playing some football this year.
Holding Player | Stuart Lockhart
Stuart has been working hard on his game over the winter and can't wait for the new season. Rumoured to have stolen several 'Union Ties' as well as a vintage playing shirt during a club function in August.
Midfield | Robert Hillis
Robert lasted about 14 minutes of his Union debut last year before rupturing his knee right up. He has bounced back well and has been the star turn during pre-season. Hopefully his drive and energy can continue to inspire his team mates.
Goalkeeper | Jarred Simpson
Jarred has returned to the No.1 position at the Union after a few seasons away. He is a top class shot stopper who provides a commanding presence at the back. Shame about the photo.
