Fortrose beat Lochs 3-2 in the Highland Amateur Cup semi final yesterday in a dramatic day in Culbokie. Fortrose progress to their first ever Highland Amateur final where they will meet bitter rivals Avoch. Fortrose deserved their win even though the islanders had the better of what was an exciting match played in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd. Simon Etheridge and Kenneth Whyte with a glorious double were the goal scorers for Fortrose but the defensive effort put in by the likes of Gordon Whyte and Michael Kerr were what really made the difference. Fortrose Union will now play Avoch on the 26th of August at Ross County's Victoria Park to decide who is the best amateur team in the north. Well done to everyone for making yesterday one of the best days in the clubs history!
